Polaris distributor in Morocco, YMF Extreme Motors, has announced its support of the Carta SSV Trophy, the first SSV-only race in Morocco which is due to take place this November.
Hosted at the gates of the Sahara Desert, the first edition of the Carta SSV Trophy will take place from 24th November to 28th November this year. The partnership with Polaris will bring five days of intense riding around M’hamid, Morocco, with full Polaris support available exclusively for Polaris customers.
“We’re thrilled to be able to offer this exceptional experience for our Polaris community – it’s the perfect opportunity to push their riding skills outside of their usual comfort zone and see the full potential of the RZR in its natural habitat,” said YMF Extreme Motors management. “The Carta Rallye Team have extensive international rally experience so it’s sure to be an unforgettable event, shared by like-minded competitors who are all passionate about off-road riding.”
On a course specifically designed for side-by-side vehicles, Polaris owners have the unique opportunity to exercise their passion for off-road adrenaline and adventure. The Carta SSV Trophy presents the perfect occasion to experience desert dunes and technical tracks in a race setting specifically designed for the ultimate SSV ride, allowing riders to enjoy the course without having to accommodate the restrictions of sharing the same course with cars, trucks and motorcycles.
Chris Armelin, Organiser of the Carta SSV Trophy, said: “With the involvement of the Polaris distributors in Morocco, our competitors will get the level of support and service that you would expect from a world class brand. The Carta SSV Trophy is the first and only SSV-specific rally event in Morocco and given the success of our previous Carta Rallye events – which is now entering its seventh edition – we’re certain this is going to be an unmissable event and I’m excited at the prospect of welcoming the Polaris SSV community and sharing with them our passion for the desert and racing!”
Suitable for both seasoned RZR enthusiasts and thrill-seeking Polaris customers who are new to the racing scene, the event offers two race categories to suit different rider abilities and experience: The SSV Baja category presents an American-style Baja course where riders will follow a GPS track without a roadbook. This race will be ranked and timed, with sub-categories for both turbo SSV models – like the all-new RZR Pro XP and RZR XP Turbo lineup – and non-turbo models.
The SSV GPS Cup category will test riders’ navigational skills on an adventure across the sands, riding from point to point via virtual waypoints. Riders will be challenged to choose the best possible course to reach the end within a given number of hours.
In both categories, there will be a “Polaris Challenge” to determine the best finishing Polaris competitors. The event also features a special night-time stage and a marathon stage that includes an overnight stay in a desert camp to discover the magic of the dunes under the stars.
